Where can I find one?
Trying to find the Leica Lens in stock
can be a challenge. The waiting lists
are long and the inventory is low. The
best advice I can give anyone shopping
for a lens would be, “Develop a personal
relationship with your favorite Leica dealer.”

Why is it important to have a personal relationship with a dealer? shouldn’t a waiting list be self explanatory? Not exactly. Say a new 50mm Summilux shows up at a shop. The first person on the waiting list might not be ready to buy the lens. If they back out, the shop runs down their list of phone numbers until they find someone who wants to buy the lens today. If you are ready, willing, and able to buy a camera or lens, it is worth telling your dealer. If he knows that you are ready beg, borrow, or steal to buy something your phone might be ringing sooner than expected. Or if you were at the top of the list and were not ready to buy something when it arrived, your dealer might not drop you to the bottom of the list. Things can get a little fuzzy, which is why it never hurts to have a friend on the other side of the counter.
Until then, here is an update of the lenses currently in stock at Adorama, B&H Photo, and Photo Village.
