Leica Store Miami + Adam Marelli // Prague Photography Workshop
“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera.
You bring to the act of photography all the pictures
you have seen, the books you have read, the music
you have heard, the people you have loved.”
– Ansel Adams
Join Leica Store Miami and Adam Marelli in Prague for an unforgettable photographic experience.
We each possess a unique vision of the world. Our passions, histories and senses unite each time we press the shutter. No two people see a scene the same way, which is why we created a workshop to celebrate the many ways we approach photography.
During this five-day accelerated workshop, we are going to break down our individual shooting styles and approaches to photography. Our workshop will provide you with an artistic community, in which you will be surrounded by like-minded individuals. As an intimate group, we will build on each other’s strengths and push each other to photograph beyond what we normally shoot.
We, the Leica Store Miami staff and Adam Marelli, are dedicated to making you a better photographer. Through discussion and critique, we will help you develop your photographic style and create a powerful body of work that reflects your individual creative strengths. Our commitment is that you do not walk away from this trip the same photographer you were at the start.

What to Expect
The focus of this trip is to develop your photography and the way you see. Each day will consist of intensive shooting followed by honest image reviews. During image review, be prepared to talk about your own photography and photographers and artists that inspire you. Expect to step outside of your comfort zone, challenge yourself and grow as a photographer.
After our group dinner, you will have evenings free. You are welcome to use this time however you see fit, whether you’d like to go out and shoot more or take the opportunity to do some site-seeing.
What to Bring
Each participant should bring their own camera, whether a DSLR or rangefinder. Although we will be focusing on rangefinder photography and the Leica M-system, participants are not required to shoot with Leica. This being said, Leica Store Miami will have some M-system cameras in limited availability. If you would like to take the opportunity to shoot with a particular Leica camera during this trip, please contact the Leica Store Miami staff.
Participants are also encouraged to bring their own laptop for post-processing and image review.
Who Should Come
This workshop is designed for intermediate to advanced shooters who have a firm grasp on how to use their camera and want to take their photography to the next level.

Reviews from Participants
“I really did not know what to expect as it was my first time out with a group such as this. The flawless logistics and accommodations were beyond my expectations. The trip was educational and the camaraderie that we developed with the whole group was just fantastic…I will not hesitate to travel along again with these amazing fellows who I now consider my dear friends.”
- Carlos Ossorio, participant in the New England Fall Foliage Trip with Leica Store Miami staff
“Just wanted to express my thanks for your efforts in making the fall foliage workshop such a wonderful experience. The accommodations and food were top notch and the way you handled the logistics of moving a large group from one excellent shooting location to another was faultless. And while I pretty much have a full complement of Leica lenses it was still a treat to use the rare ones that you provided for us. Frankly, I did not expect to learn much on this trip…I simply considered it an opportunity to shoot different and beautiful scenery. But I was wrong about that. I never would have thought that the use of polarizing and ND filters could make such a dramatic difference in the final image. Nor would I have known how to capture those swirling eddies in the streams we shot. Or what wonderful images can be captured after dusk with a sturdy tripod and long exposures. Lastly, and maybe most importantly, I made some new friends on the trip. Genuinely nice people with that I stay in touch with on a regular basis.
All in all a great experience…I’d give it a 10 out of 10.”
- David Kipper, participant in the New England Fall Foliage Trip with Leica Store Miami staff
“I learned perhaps the most important lesson – practice with what you have (1 camera, 1 lens, 1 style). Seems obvious but wasn’t for me until I saw real artists at work. I was worried it might be too technical for me or too much of a gear-fest but neither was true: it was pure shooting with passion and a considered purpose, without the unnecessary distractions.”
- Glen Goh, Adam Marelli workshop attendee
“Adam Marelli opened my eyes in regards to composition. The way you use the backgrounds and subjects as elements within a scene and how you try to arrange all the elements perfectly together is just amazing. Some of the tips that I received from Adam were so good that I find myself browsing through old photographs that I took to actually learn from my own mistakes, and, how I can improve myself based on how I previously composed my pictures.
Adam was also very good at connecting with people, and used time to actually get to know people, to know their story, show his interest and become friends with them. To actually approach people on this personal level and to connect with them and then take their picture is an amazing quality which I some day hope that I can develop myself.
Considering the amount of money that I have spent on camera equipment through the years – the money I spent on the workshop was by far the most valuable investment I have made in regards to my photography hobby. A new camera body still takes pictures, and a new lens still takes pictures. Yes, some pictures might be sharper and have a higher dynamic range than others. But that doesn’t change the fact that the content of the picture is by far the most important thing in a picture, and if the content or composition sucks, well, then the picture sucks no matter what equipment created it.”
