Happy 2015!

We hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season and New Year.  2014 was a record year here at Adam Marelli Workshops, with a sold out calendar, winning Top Instructor for 2014 on Udemy, and a few IPA Awards.  But in humble recognition of all that happened, yours truly spent the holidays with a cold and no voice.  While I would normally say I “caught a cold,” this year the cold caught me.  It put the kibosh on any grand plans for the last two weeks.  But the plus side of starting off the year under the weather is that there is only one way to go from here: UP!

Small Shoulder Bag

The Small Shoulder Bag was designed for the photographer who values just the essentials.  They favor simplicity over features, but do not want to sacrifice style.  And when it is not being used for your cameras, it is the perfect everyday bag for your favorite book or e-reader, a good pen and headphones.  Whether you are digital or analogue, boarding a train or jumping in a car, this bag will be with you every step of the way.

A Global Community of Photographers

When this project started over one year ago, we did not know if it would ever be publicly available.  The hurdles of manufacturing hard goods and coordinating it all internationally is really a profession unto itself, but we are very pleased that this limited release will ship all over the globe.  As we enter the new year, let us raise a glass to forging our own paths in 2015!

    All the best
    Rune

    • Dear Rune,

Japan is estimating the bags will be finished by the end of March. We are in line for their production and they will keep us posted with progress shots.

After that, all of the bags will come to the studio, here and NYC and be distributed from there.

Thank you in advance for your patience. My bags are in the same production run with everyone else, so I am just as eager as you are for them to be done. : )

      Best-Adam

  6. Great!

I placed my (pre)order, I asked Adam to send you my email address

    Best regards

    Peter

  7. Hey Adam! These bags look great! I emailed last week to place a preorder but haven’t heard back yet. Just wanted to make sure you received it! :) Thanks again!

    Joey

    • Hi Joey,

We are getting back to everyone from late in the week this afternoon. You should hear from us soon.

      Best-Adam

  8. Hi Adam,

Any update on the date for the bags to be finished in Japan? I would love the have the small bag with me on a trip to Krakow but perhaps that is hoping for too much….? I live in Norway.

    Best regards,

    Bjarte

PS Really enjoy your photos, website and youtube videos!

  9. Hi Adam,

Your bags appear terrific and one day ( I would like to say soon, however there is a catch.) My wife calls me the man of many bags and I like that because she appears to be missing the fact that I could also be called the man of many cameras or lenses or lights or … photographically… name it. I think that she notices the bags because they are bigger. And that detracts from the rest me thinks.. I don’t know … very much… of anything … really, but it is a theory. I do kid about this, however, because she is amazingly supportive. I am blessed!

    However, I digress.

I would not be writing this except for one BIG thing about your bags. They only have one strap on the front. I have many bags and like children I love them all equally, but differently. My latest bag is the Billingham L2 and I purchased this and the Hadley Digital within the last two weeks as buddies for my Hadley Pro. I needed the L2 because the Avea 5 side pockets looked hideous on the Hadley Pro but look amazing on the L2 . It’s best to buy the Avea 3(s) for it – HP. My favourite bag is the Hadley Digital because it has only one front strap as all camera bags should. One does not need two stinking front straps. So I must recover from my latest purchases and hopefully my next camera bag will be one of your design. I did not notice if you had a name for them i.e. the slow tools “roustabout” and the …? probably unnecessary. If I were now looking to buy my first Camera bag (or even another bag) I would buy one of your designs (and by the way they also look great) because except for the Hadley Digital and my Orvis 150th Annversary bag all the rest of my others have two front straps. Bad Show…. Bad Form … Not Good – at least for me – but one must cope.

    All the Best

    P.B.

    • Dear Paul,

I will leave the wife to you : )

Single strap…single hand…its just easy, especially for walking around the streets. Glad you like the design.

If you are in, do let us know, there are only a few left and there will not be a second production run.

      Best-AM

  10. Hi Adam,

These looks perfectly designed to me. Are these still available to order? I would love to buy a small one. I live in Norway.

    kind regards,
    Kristian

  11. These bags look great. Are there any medium ones still available for order?

  12. Hi Adam,
Great looking bags! Any thoughts to making one in a size somewhere between the two you offer? My kit is 2 leica bodies with 35 & 50 lenses mounted plus two other (21 & 90) lenses connected together. Your small bag is great for a body and spare lens but I already have that size bag covered. Your medium bag looks a little big for field work and I have that size covered as well. What I’m looking for is 3 interior divisions plus a pocket or two for cards, batteries, etc in a style exactly like yours. Something that is not too tall, bulky or flashy.

    • Hi Tom,

Thanks for checking out the bags, but no plans for future sizes…if anything changes it will be put up on the site.

      Best-AM

  13. Hello Adam,

I was wondering if the big version was still available?

Thanks and hope to read you soon!

    Sophie

  14. Hi Adam.

Same question as Sophie. Do you have any medium bags?

  15. Any plans to order a new batch? If not, how different are the standard bags from them? Are they shipping them to the US?

    -George

    • Hi George,
If you asked me a month ago I would have said no, but the demand keeps growing so we are considering it.
And they will ship from the US, though I would like to get a hub in Europe.
      Best-AM

  16. Hi Adam,

Any news on the next batch?

    Best
    Tom

  17. Any update on a second batch??

    • Hi George,

We had a design meeting about it this week. Looks like we are good for 2016…timing still up in the air, but its in the works.

      Best-AM

  18. Hello Adam, Do you find your hub in Europe?
If I can help, I live in Belgium and could provide you some help to solve your problem?!
    Have a good day.

    • Hi Sophie,

Thank you for the offer…love the Maison Tassel shot you have on the site. Greatly underrated architecture.

More bags coming in 2016, with a European point of sales.

      Best-AM

  19. Happy New year,
When will the new batch in Europe?
    All the best,
    Peter

    • Hi Peter,

We have just started the re-design process last month. We will be making a number of improvements on the bags for the next round. Then we will prototype each bag and test the design, after which they will head into production. I would estimate a Summer release.

      Best-AM

  20. Sorry

  21. Thx for your answer. Maybe it’s an idea to make the small bag 12 inches instead of 11. And excuses for my bad english. And if I can help?
    ATB Peter

  22. Hi Adam,

Really excited to know that you are considering a new batch of camera bags. I do hope that I get in early for placing an order. BTW, are you headed to Singapore anytime this year ?

    Best regards,

    Prodyut

    • Hi Prodyut,

We’ve added you to the “please notify” list for the next round of bags.

No plans for Singapore yet this year, but if anything comes up, you will definitely see it here on the site.

      Best-AM

  23. Please add me to the notification. I live and work in NYC. I don’t mind meeting and pick it up. I want the small sized bag. Thanks

  24. Please add me to the list as well… a small for me as well.

  25. Hi Adam,

Love the bags! Please add me to your list for a small one :-)

    Best wishes,

    Martha

    • Dear Martha,

I’ve just added you to the list for the new round of bags. We will email you once we have
      design and production updates.

      best-AM

  26. I think I am on your list, but I want to make sure. I am ready for a SMALL–can’t wait!

    Bill Coleman
    California

    • Hi Bill,

You are on the list for the small. We are looking at a Fall/Winter delivery right now.
      But will keep you posted.

      Best-AM
